The start
Napoleon Solo was formed in the late summer of 1984 upon the ruins of another SKA band called 'Duck Soup' (Jens Wennecke and Jack Rothe had been playing in 'Duck Soup'). Jens, Poul Siersbæk and Jacob Palitzsch who all knew each other from the high-school 'Efterslægten' laid their hands on a rehearsal room and started rehearsing. Some other guys were using the same room and they decided to join forces. Those guys were Søren 'Marvin' Christensen and Sonny Rasmussen (and a fellow called 'Ben Carlos' who didn't join the joint venture).
Jens Wennecke decided to call Jack Rothe to ask him if he'd be interested in playing his alto sax in yet another SKA band - Jack called 7asper 7ørgensen, who he knew from the 'in-crowd' (the MODS) - and 7asper called Michael Theiltoft, whom he'd been playing with in different bands (Michael and Jack knew each other from the Tivoli Guards). All the pieces were in place and the line-up was as follows:
| Jens Wennecke - drums | |
Poul Siersbæk - bass |
| Jacob Palitzsch - organ | |
Søren Christensen - lead vocal |
| Sonny Rasmussen - lead guitar | |
Jack Rothe - alto sax |
| 7asper 7ørgensen - vocals & guitar | |
Michael Theiltoft - trumpet |
(Wow, there's a lot to write - come back later for more ...)
